Alan has been in the financial Industry for 22 years. Alan's practice has focused on non-profits, small businesses, families, and individuals helping them achieve their financial goals. Alan is an Independent Financial Advisor to better serve his clients and provide them with great wealth management experience. Alan started his career at Merrill Lynch in Birmingham as a Financial Consultant. He also spent 10 years at Colonial Brokerage and Wells Fargo Advisors as a Vice President and Financial Advisor.
Alan graduated from Samford University and holds the FINRA licenses series 7, series 66 and is licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Alan also holds his life and health insurance licenses.
Alan is currently a member of The Civitan Club of Birmingham. Which provides financial support for the Civitan UAB research Center, The Sparks Center, also work closely with The Exceptional Foundation and Jimmy Hale Mission. Alan has served as a Board Member and as Chairman of the Board for The Civitan Club of Birmingham for many years. He also served on The Board of Trustees for The Creative Montessori School of Homewood and has served as a Junior Board Member of Globeworks International. Alan is married to Leslie Hand, an attorney, and has two daughters, Madeline {24) and Elizabeth Hand {16). He enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf, fishing, and working on non-profit projects.
